Turlock Irrigation District Mainframe Migration A Great Success With Asysco

On February 08, 2010, Turlock Irrigation District, in partnership with Asysco, successfully completed an eight month project to migrate their Unisys Mainframe to Asysco’s flagship product, AMT-LION.
TID selected Asysco in May 2009 to perform an automated migration of their Unisys A-Series mainframe including all five, mission-critical applications complete with onlines, data, reports and batch programs.
The project required that all screens be migrated to the AMT-LION Web Environment. The project also required the migration of several key interfaces including a replacement of the DMSII to SQL Server data warehousing process.
Benefits of the migration are already being realized as one of the key monthly batch process runtimes was reduced from over 20 hours to less than 2 hours without any need for redesign or optimization for the new platform.
The uneventful cutover is a tribute to the hard work, dedication and communication within the project team and underscored a terrific partnership between TID and Asysco throughout the project.
TID, established in 1887, was the first publicly owned irrigation district in the state and one of only four in California today that also provides electric retail energy to its customers.
Today, TID provides safe, low-cost and reliable electricity to a growing customer base that today numbers in excess of 98,000 home, farm, industrial and municipal accounts. TID also provides irrigation water to over 5,800 farmers covering approximately 150,000 acres of farmland.
